Folk Dance of  Tamil Nadu Salem District, Saurashtra  Palkar people.

This Dance is called as gebbeeL or Gebbi in Salem sourashtra dialect and in northrn gujarati saurashtra called as Garbi or Garba.

This folk dance recorded at the time of KoNangi natana, as a part of kONangi natana.

Though the migrants of saurashtra palkar people settled at Salem before more than one thousands years, this folk performed with sourashtra language and tamil songs.

Seperate groups performed this dance at the time of navarathri and ambaji worshipping festivals.  Compare this with northern Garba with previous posts of this blog.
